First you need to decide whether an integrated or smart-driver is required to control the light you want.
Additionally the power of the driver must be matched to connected loads.

Integrated systems represent the classic approach to lighting systems. In this setup, luminaires are connected to an integrated driver and operated via wired switches. Integrated systems are designed for monochrome lighting and provide reliable, straightforward control without smart home integration.

Smart systems combine luminaires with a smart-driver and control unit, enabling wireless switches, app control, and seamless integration into modern smart home environments. This allows multiple lighting systems to be managed together, while custom lighting scenes and settings can be created and recalled effortlessly.

For both, smart and integrated drivers there are 5 models available.

The main difference between the models is the rated power they can supply: 20 W, 40 W, 60 W, 100 W, 150 W

So the key factor in selecting the right model of driver is the power required for the lights and other connected loads.

  • Calculate the wattage requirement of the LED-lights and other consumers to be connected to the same driver and selecta driver that can supply the required power.
  • Please consider that the wattage requirement of LED-ribbons and linear lights depend on model and their length (W/m).
  • The total wattage requirement of all loads must not exceed the output of the driver.
  • Also consider possible future expansion of the system with additional lights.
  • Lighting scene: A lighting scene determines which lights are switched on or off and how (brightness / colour temperature) they shine. Lighting scenes can be used to set different moods or functional areas. Once set, they can be easily recalled thanks to the memory function.
  • Lighting groups: A lighting group combines luminaires that can be controlled independently of each other. Each group is controlled via the corresponding outputs of the control unit.
  • Connected output ports: Outputs on the control unit for connecting LED lights that can be controlled via a switch / app (on/off, dimming, colour temperature).
  • Uncontrolled output ports: Supply continuous current even when the control unit is switched off. Important for connecting luminaires with integrated switches (e.g. PL4001, PL4005, PL4006) so that the light can be switched on automatically when movement is detected. The uncontrolled outputs cannot be controlled via switches or app. Only the control units for monochrome lights have an uncontrolled output port, as lights with integrated switches are exclusively monochrome.
  • Synchronous control: All connected output ports of the control unit are controlled simultaneously by a switch. This means that all connected lights are switched on or off simultaneously (synchronously) with one switch.
  • Asynchronous control: Depending on the control unit model, there are different numbers of outputs (groups) that can be controlled separately. Lights connected to these outputs / groups can be switched on or off independently of each other. Lights connected to a group of outputs can only be switched on or off together.

The control units define the application (incl. colour system) and functions of smart-drivers and form the basis for integrating your lighting into smart systems.

It is important to consider which colour system is to be controlled and whether the light is to be controlled synchronously or asynchronously:

  • Synchronous control: All lights connected to the connected output ports of the control unit are controlled simultaneously with one switch.
  • Asynchronous control: Depending on the control unit model, there are different numbers of outputs (groups) that can be controlled separately. Lights connected to different groups are controlled independently of each other. Lights connected to the same group are controlled together.
  • Uncontrolled port: The control units for monochrome light systems feature one port uncontrolled. The uncontrolled port supplies continuous current, even when the control unit is switched off. Important for the linear lights with integrated switching function

The following overviews show the details to the specifications of each model, to make it easy for you to select the right
control unit for your system.

CONTROL UNITS – COLOUR SYSTEM, CONTROL TYPE, PORTS & GROUPS

First and foremost, how you want to control the light and if the functions of the switch match with your system. You also need to consider whether you prefer wireless or wired switches.

Smart sensor switches can only be operated with smart-driver & control unit.

Please consider that there are different models of switches with different switching function and that the switch needs to be compatible to the control unit.

The detailed information on switching functions and compatibility you find in the description for the relative models.

Wired sensor switches can only be operated with integrated drivers and need to be connected to the switch connections of the driver.

Please consider that there are different models of switches with different switching function.

Remote controls can only be operated with smart-driver & control unit.

In addition to basic lighting control (on/off, setting colour temperature/RGB colours, dimming), remote controls also allow you to set lighting scenes that can be easily recalled.

The multiple switch unit is used to connect up to three integrated drivers and max. three wired sensor switches to enable mixed control of multiple LED lights.
Connected integrated drivers are controlled at the same time by wired sensor switches that can be installed at different places.

The application for which it is intended determines which LED-ribbon is suitable for your project. The following aspects must be taken into account:

Select the LED-ribbon type according to the required properties (see “Different types of LED-ribbons & their characterstic features”).
• Decide which colour system is desired:
> monochrome LED-ribbons provide white light and are available in different colour temperatures, from warm white (2700K) to cool white (5000K).
> multiwhite LED-ribbons offer the possibility of continuously adjusting the colour temperature from warm white to cool white (2700-5000K).
> RGB LED-ribbons offer the option of setting countless different light colours, including white light.
• Dimensions of the LED strip.
• Number of LEDs (LEDs/m): the more LEDs, the more uniform the perception of the light strip.
• Wattage (W/m): the higher, the brighter.
• Luminous flux (lm/m): the higher, the brighter.
• Illuminance: The illuminance (measured in lux), i.e. how much brightness arrives at a certain distance, depends on the distance of a light source, its luminous flux, its beam angle and its colour temperature.

High-lumen LED-ribbons (e.g., ~1900 lm/m) are useful when you need real working light, not just mood light. They overcome losses from diffusors or indirect mounting, reach 300–750 lx for tasks and “cleaning mode,” and still leave headroom to dim. Ideal for high ceilings, kitchens, workshops, offices, and showrooms where bright, even light is required.

VoxAura systems are also harmonized for connectors. As a rule, only the width of the PCB of the LED strip and the number of pins need to be taken into account.

Profiles – the professional solution for durable, high-quality lighting installations:
• Optimal heat dissipation – reducing operating temperature, extending the service life of LED-ribbons and minimizing thermal stress on furniture surfaces.
• Consistent light quality over the entire length – lower thermal load means less brightness drop.
• Protection against dust and dirt – for consistently stable light output.
• Homogeneous light image – a diffuser can only be used in the profile.
• Easy to clean – cover instead of sensitive LED surface.
• Precise guidance & secure fixing – precise integration into furniture.
• Clean finish – technically and visually high-quality solution.

• Decide which colour system is desired:
> monochrome downlights provide white light and are available in two different colour temperatures, warm white (2700K) and neutral white (4000K).
> multiwhite downlights offer the possibility of continuously adjusting the colour temperature from warm white to cool white (2700-5000K).
• Design (round / square) and dimensions.

MINI TRACK LIGHT

DESIGN LIGHTING YOUR WAY.

The mini track lighting system gives complete freedom to create individual lighting concepts for furniture and interiors. The slim electrified track can be surface mounted or recessed, while adjustable spots can be clipped in anywhere to highlight objects and surfaces. With the option to illuminate the tracks, corner connectors, and perfectly matched components, the system opens up endless possibilities for creative lighting design.

First, you need to determine the desired system configuration. The following points should be considered:
1. How long should the track system be in total?
=> This determines the number of tracks required.
2. Should the tracks be recessed or surface mounted?
=> This determines which type of track you need to choose.
3. How many spots should be integrated into the tracks?
=> This determines the number of spots required.
4. How bright should the spots be?
=> This determines whether a spot with a higher or lower luminous flux is preferable.
5. What colour temperature should the spots have?
=> This determines whether you need the spot in 3000 K or 4000 K version.
6. Should the track itself be illuminated?
=> If yes, an LED-ribbon and a diffuser in the required length will be needed.
7. Should the tracks run around corners?
=> If yes, corner connectors will be required.
8. How many and which connectors are needed to connect all components together?
=> This determines which and how many connectors must be ordered.
9. How many end caps and installation clips are required to complete the system?
=> This determines how many end caps and installation clips must be ordered.
Also note whether the end caps and installation clips are needed for recessed or surface mounted tracks.
